Where can I find timings for the event I’m attending?

Timings are generally only confirmed 2-3 days before the event and will be posted on the event page as soon as they’re confirmed. Use the search function at the top of the page (magnifying glass icon) to find the page for your event and keep checking there until timings are confirmed.

If you are lucky enough to look under 25 you will be asked to prove you are aged 18 or over when you buy alcohol.
The only 2 forms of ID we accept to prove your age are a valid photo driving licence or a valid photo passport.
It is an offence for under 18s to purchase or attempt to purchase alcohol. It is a criminal offence to buy or attempt to buy alcohol for someone who is under the age of 18.

What age restrictions apply at events?

It is the recommendation of the venue that children under fourteen should not attend in the standing area at any event. All patrons over five years old are welcome to attend in the seated section, unless otherwise stated by the event organiser. It is the venue’s recommendation that children under five should not attend concerts or events, other than those specifically aimed at younger visitors, i.e. children’s shows. The standard venue age advisory will apply, unless otherwise stated by the event organiser as advised on the individual what’s on listing here.

I have a medical condition; can I take a drink in a bottle into the venue?

Drinks in sealed plastic bottles up to 500ml that are required for medical purposes are permitted, but must be declared to stewards on entry. These will be checked, and any suspicious or unauthorised items may be discarded.

Can I come early and queue at the venue?

Early queuing on Campus is discouraged - it won’t guarantee a place at the front of the stage!
Queuing/camping overnight on Campus is not permitted – the safety of the public attending events on our Campus is our highest priority!
We recommend visitors allow plenty of time to get through our security checks and into the venue, arriving for the doors open time as a general guide – don’t miss out on the action!

The doors open time is usually listed on the event page of our websites and social media channels a few days before the event at ovohydro.com and sec.co.uk, or connect with us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

What should I do if I require medical assistance while at the venue?

If you require medical assistance, please inform a member of our stewarding team or any member of venue staff. First-aid and medical staff are available at all events and will be called to assist.

Can I bring an assistance dog to the venue?

The SEC welcomes visitors with assistance dogs. We would ask that assistance dogs are clearly identifiable around the campus. Facilities are available for assistance dogs on request. Please note: requests must be made at least 7 days in advance of your event.

When attending an event can I leave the venue and re-enter?

At most events you may leave and re-enter the venue during the event, as long as you present your ticket for scanning each time.

Is there a dress code at events?
-
No, there is no dress code – customers can wear what they wish. However, football colours are generally not permitted (some exceptions may apply, which if applicable, will be detailed on the event page). Fancy dress is permitted (without accessories that could be used as weapons or missiles), but costumes of controversial characters will not be permitted.

Will there be large video screens showing the performer(s) on stage?

Events are brought to the venue by external event organisers and concert promoters. The provision and function of all stage equipment is under the control of the concert organiser; as such the provision of screens is not guaranteed.

Do you provide booster seats for smaller children attending events?
-
We have a small number of booster seats available to borrow for events in the OVO Hydro and SEC Armadillo. These are allocated on a first come first served basis for ground floor use only and may be fully allocated at popular family events.

Can I bring my dog with me to an event?

Only official assistance dogs are permitted in the venue and should be clearly identifiable as recommended by Assistance Dogs UK.

Can I bring my own food and drink into the venue?

No - food and drinks from outside the venue are generally not permitted.
Items required for medical purposes are permitted, but must be sealed and declared to stewards on entry. Bottles must be no bigger than 500ml and will be checked by stewards; any suspicious or unauthorised items may be discarded. Please note that cans are not permitted.

Can I bring a mobile phone power bank into the venue?

Yes, mobile phone power banks under 21,000mAh are generally allowed into the venue and are subject to security search clearance.
Please note, we do not provide charging cables or recharging services, make sure you are charged up and ready to go.

Do I need a ticket for my child?
-
All children must have a valid ticket for an event, with the exception of ‘babes in arms’ (under 12 months) who may sit on a parent/guardian’s knee, unless otherwise stated by the event promoter.

What time is the Box Office open?

The Box office opens at 3pm on the day of the event and closes 15 mins after the main act takes to stage, unless otherwise stated. Tickets can be purchased online 24 hours a day at www.ovohydro.com (powered by Ticketmaster).

Why do ticket-holders sometimes get reseated at events?
-
For various reasons it may be necessary occasionally to relocate ticket-holders to alternative seating. This is always carried out in line with the original seating position and/or ticket price band.

Where can I view a seating plan?

A seating plan will be displayed for events as you book your tickets. This can also be found on Ticketmaster’s Facebook page.
